Why care about the Red Rock trails?

Protecting a Unique and Sensitive Area

Red Rock Country... also known as the Red Rock ecosystem, enchants visitors and residents with its extraordinary beauty, unique biotic and cultural assets. This environment contains the highest density of archaeological sites in the region. Combine this with erosive soils, dramatic weather and millions of year round trail users - and it becomes clear why trail maintenance and forest stewardship is essential.

A place unlike anywhere else in the world, the Sedona Red Rock Country attracts more than 3,000,000 visitors yearly to immerse themselves in the landscape. The extensive system of 400+ miles of recreational trails provides hikers, bikers and equestrians with access to these natural wonders.

Our sole focus at the Red Rock Trail Fund is providing the means to sustain the Red Rock trail system.
