Sedona, AZ- March 20, 2025 – The Sedona Westerners Hiking Club raised $28,000 in their annual February campaign to help fund maintenance for the Red Rock trail system. Fueled with two $5,000 incentive match donations from anonymous donors, 42 individual members made donations. Dick Williams, SRRTF president, revealed the results at the Westerners’ March 19th meeting. Coupled with their Trail Keeper-related sponsorship, the grand total of their support this year comes to $30,000.

Recapping the campaign details, Williams reported that although most of the monies will be applied to fund the seasonal crews and conservation organizations doing routine trail maintenance, donors were allowed to designate their donations to the Doe Mountain Trail renovation or the Turkey Creek Trail System.

Westerners Trail Boss (president) Terri Petrescu expressed her appreciation for the generosity shown by the club, saying “As enthusiast users of the Red Rock trail system, our members have a great appreciation for the work involved with maintaining so many miles of trails.”

The Sedona Westerners Hiking Club always welcomes new members. During their hiking season of September through May, they have scheduled hikes multiple days of the week for all abilities. If you are interested in joining the club, please visit their website at sedonawesterners.org.
