Sedona, AZ (April 24, 2025) – For the third consecutive year, the Sedona Red Rockers Meetup group sponsored a fundraising campaign for the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund (SRRTF). At a celebratory Mexican fiesta hosted by member Kim True on April 12th, it was revealed that the grand total for the two-week drive was $12,450 – incentivized by match funds from two members.

At the celebration party, USFS District Ranger Alex Schlueter and SRRTF President Dick Williams thanked the group for their generous commitment to the upkeep of the trails. USFS Trails/Wilderness/OHV Coordinator Kevin Kuhl gave the audience a review of the ambitious projects that have already been completed this fiscal year, recommending new trails that offer new experiences for users.

The Sedona Red Rockers Meetup Group is a public organization with approximately 2,800 members. Group members share an interest in outdoor recreation in Red Rock Country as well as socializing. The group is led by Mike Coltrane and is open to all through the online website meetup.com.

In his words of appreciation, SRRTF President Williams thanked the Red Rockers for their continued support. “Your collective and individual generosity, along with the unique way this matching campaign runs, shows true commitment. This wonderful party is not only a way to get together and celebrate the Red Rockers’ collective contributions, but it is also a great way to celebrate the trails we all love and use on a daily basis. This year’s contribution actually helped fund the seasonal crew.”

2025 Projects Completed
In addition to regular maintenance, a number of the special trail renovation projects slated for fiscal year 2025 (Oct-Sept) have been completed. These include Hardline Trail, Bell Rock Single Track Bypass, Bell Rock Pathway Bridge, Rector Connector 2 Bypass, the Doe Mountain Trail first phase, West Fork Trail refurbishment, and Schuerman Mountain Trail. Work on the Turkey Creek trail system will begin in the Fall.
