Rodeo Trail is now fully open.

Completed on March 11th, 2026, Rodeo is a short but memorable descent connecting Third Rock Trail to Del Sol. At 0.34 miles long with 203 feet of elevation loss, it’s compact but packed with character.

Rodeo was built as a directional, bike-optimized descent. The trail features steeper grades, wide corners, slickrock sections, a few jumps, and optional technical moves. It serves as a fast and fun finish for riders heading northbound on Third Rock.

Trail Use

Rodeo is open to all user groups, but the trail was designed primarily for downhill bike traffic. If you are hiking the trail, please stay alert and step aside at safe, visible locations so riders can pass. Due to the steep slickrock tread, equestrian use is not recommended.

Hikers and uphill riders looking for a quieter experience may prefer staying on Third Rock Trail to Del Sol.

Part of a Larger Trail System

Rodeo is one piece of the broader Turkey Creek trail system buildout.

The goal of this system is to create a connected network where different trails support different types of experiences. Some trails are designed to be more scenic and comfortable for hiking. Others are built to accommodate equestrian use with wider corridors and more consistent tread.

Purpose-built bike trails like Rodeo help keep faster downhill riding predictable and concentrated in appropriate locations, which helps reduce user conflict across the system.

We have an upcoming Editorial Piece planned to share more details about the planning and feedback utilized to create these experiences at Turkey Creek for all user groups.

Built by the Community

Rodeo was built through the collaboration of the Red Rock Trail Crew, the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund, and many volunteers and supporters who continue to show up to build and care for Sedona’s trails.

Thank you to everyone who contributed time, funding, and effort to bring this trail to life.

If you’re out riding or hiking in the area, take a moment to check out Rodeo and enjoy the new connection.
