Committed to a Sustainable
Red Rock Trail System

10 Years of Trail Stewardship

The Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund grew from a public gathering of citizens in 2013. There was grave concern that the Red Rock trail system was outdated and poorly maintained. At that gathering, residents and Forest Service staff prioritized actions to sustain the unique ecosystem and trail experience. Actions included expansion of the trail system, trail re-routes for sustainability, improved trailhead access, additional high-interest user-created routes and annual trail maintenance. Understanding that the Forest Service resources were insufficient to achieve the vision, the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund was formed as an Arizona non-profit corporation to act as an official partner of the USFS.

For ten years now, we have been raising funds through individuals, businesses and grantors. Our donors have provided a steady source of funding for trail maintenance and enhancements to the Red Rock Ranger District, as well a funding the buildout of more than 60 miles of new trails.
